AP Environmental Science (APES) is designed to be a rigorous introductory level college level science course. Students taking APES will be expected to work diligently both inside the classroom (note taking, lab activities, class discussions, etc.) and outside the classroom (reading assignments, homework, projects).
As stated by the College Board “The goal of this course is to introduce students to scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world, to identify and analyze environmental problems both natural and human-made, to evaluate the relative risks associated with these problems, and to examine alternative solutions for resolving and preventing them.”
